Isle of Man Railway 15mm Scale Modelling Group
Background
Although our roots date back to the 1990’s, the IOM15milgroup website was established in 2011 to provide a virtual ‘club house’ for modellers of the Isle of Man Railway scene (including the Manx Northern Railway and Foxdale Railway) in 15mm scale.
Scale & Gauge
Why choose 15mm to 1ft scale? Well it allows modelling the 3ft gauge Isle of Man Railway scene at a precise scale using readily available 45mm gauge track.
It's also expressed as 1:20.3 scale, or Fn3 scale by American model railroaders.
Landscape
Garden railways dominate 15mm scale, with a choice of live steam (gas, spirit or coal fired) and electric (on-board batteries or track feed).
Modelling often extends beyond rolling stock and track into railway buildings, broader garden landscaping and dwarf horticulture!
Models & Materials
Modelling the Isle of Man Railway scene in 15mm scale is supported by a wide range of new and secondhand commercial products, as well as items produced by individual IOM15milgroup members.

Exhibitions
The IOM15milgroup exhibits at the 16mm NGM's annual National Garden Railway Show and on occasions at other events. For the rest of the year, we're here on-line to share information, ideas and inspiration.

We're an e-group affiliated to the Association of 16mm Narrow Gauge Modellers.
Visit its website for information about the Association and the benefits of becoming a 16mm NGM member, including modelling guides, online reference material and quarterly magazines. The 16mm NGM also host the annual National Garden Railway Show in the UK.
Our website is designed to inspire and promote collecting / making / operating 15mm scale models of the Isle of Man Railway scene (including Manx Northern Railway and Foxdale Railway).
